At Grout King we do not charge you for the time to quote, it’s FREE with no obligation to use our services.
How long does a quote take to complete?
Depending on the area, we average 10 – 20 minutes to assess, discuss and provide you with a written evaluation.
Are you available to quote on weekends or after hours?
We understand that work hours and school times can make it difficult to meet during the week so we ensure we are available to schedule flexible times that suit your schedule.
Can you provide a quote over the phone?
In order to provide an accurate quote, we offer a free no obligation evaluation onsite to ensure that the quote is relevant and there are no surprises.
How long will it take to schedule the work once it’s confirmed?
We work closely with our clients to ensure the work commences within 7-10 working days, however we appreciate some jobs are more urgent and can attend earlier in some instances.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
We will only request payment once the job has been completed.
Grout Colour Sealing
What does Colourseal mean?
Colourseal is a highly durable coating which was specifically designed to re-colour, seal and protect existing grout. Due to the presence of mildicides colourseal will also offer prolonged resistance to mildew growth.
Why should I Colourseal my grout?
Having a professional team colourseal old, stained and faded grout will revitalize the area without having to pay for costly and unnecessary renovations and offer a sealed layer of protection to your grout.
Is it possible to change the colour of my existing grout ?
Grout King has over 80 colours and shades of grout to choose from which ensures your vision and decor will be perfectly complimented with the right colour.
Does it look obvious when the grout has been coloursealed?
Coloursealing a surface will revive the entire area and can be matched, if necessary, with existing grout for a seamless transition.
How long does it take for the surface to dry after it’s been Coloursealed?
Once a floor has been coloursealed it can be walked on immediately however we recommend to allow half an hour before normal foot traffic.
What are the main advantages of getting my grout coloursealed?
Coloursealing grout is not only impressive in its appearance but protects the grout by making it water and stain proof, which makes it easier to maintain. Colourseal also contains agents that reduce bacteria and mildew.
What type of grout can you Colourseal?
Colourseal may be applied to both ‘Sanded’ & ‘Un-Sanded’ Grout lines.
What is the process involved for having the Colourseal applied?
The procedure is very straightforward and begins with a professional clean of the surface. The sealer is applied using specifically designed product and equipment after the cleaned surface has be been neutralized and fully dried. The excess sealer is then removed from the surface and allowed to dry. The job is finished once the entire surface has been cleaned and buffed leaving your tile and grout looking better than new.
How long does Colourseal Protection last?
The protection can last up to 15 years once they have been coloursealed if the tiles and grout are maintained properly.
Can you match any grout colour?
We can specifically match colours to ensure a seamless blend.
Tile & Grout Clear Sealing
What Is ‘Clear Sealer’?
The purpose of Clear sealer is to protect tiles from stains and can be either solvent or water based and is a transparent liquid specially which is best applied soon after installation.
Is there a way to tell if grout has been sealed?
Yes. By simply dripping a few drops of water onto the grout and leaving for 5 minutes, if the grout has been sealed it will not absorb or stain the grout.
Is there a way to tell if my tiles have been sealed?
If your tiles have been sealed, water drops will bead on the surface or roll across the tile you blow on it.
Does Grout King use a specific type of Clear Sealer?
Our experienced team will determine the most suitable clear sealer product to use on your surface by assessing the area prior to application. We have an extensive range of tile and grout sealers and will chose the most appropriate sealer dependent on the surface and location of the surface.
How long will the sealer last?
For a majority of clear sealer products, the expected life-span of the application will depend on the surface area, surface wear and environmental factors and lasts for an average of 5 years. However, some products depending on the wear of the area have been known to last for up to 15 years.
Will the tiles and grout look different after being sealed?
There will be no visible or obvious change in the appearance, colour or texture of the surface after a clean seal application.
How long does it take the sealer to dry?
In most instances the surface will be sealed, dry and ready for use within 2 hours. The only possible variables on this time would be caused by extreme humidity, air temperature and tile/grout porosity. The application will usually achieve full cure in 24 hours.
What do I need to do with the tiles after they have been sealed?
Just like anything, the more you take care of your tiles, the longer they and the sealer, will last. We recommend to use a sponge mop with a PH neutral cleaner and Grout King can supply a specialised maintenance cleaner for a very reasonable price. You will receive a detailed maintenance plan from our team member upon completion of the job to ensure you have all of the information on-hand.
What is the benefit of having my tile and grout floor sealed?
By engaging the services of a professional company such as Grout King to seal your tile and grout surfaces, you will receive the peace of mind that your flooring, driveway, walls are protected from water-based and oil-based stains. Sealing surfaces also makes cleaning up spills and mess hassle-free with stains not absorbing but simply wiping off.
Does my ceramic tile need to be sealed?
Ceramic tiles are sealed during the manufacturing process and therefore do not require cleaning. However, the grout between the tiles should be sealed.
What is the application process of sealer?
Our experienced Grout King team member will go through all of the details upon the initial free quote and assessment of sealing your surface. The process is simple and involves the surface being professionally cleaned, neutralizes and dried before the application of the sealer using professional equipment and qualified staff. After the sealer has dried, the excess is removed and the surface will dry within a matter of hours.
Why do I have to pay someone to apply the sealer and not do it myself?
Just like laying tiles and grout is best left to the professionals, the same goes for the application of the products for the clear sealer. If the process is done incorrectly or the wrong products are used you can cause permanent damage to the tiles. Our Grout King team has been professionally trained and is qualified for the application of clear and colour seal.
Tile Anti-Slip Treatment
Can the anti-slip treatment work on any surface?
Our experienced team at Grout King will arrange a time to do a free assessment and quote to determine the best treatment for the surface and we will also test a spot to ensure the best results. Anti-slip can work on surfaces such as Terracotta tiles, limestone, marble, ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, vitrified tiles and granite. We can work with any area such as bathrooms, driveways, pool areas and everything in between.
Does tile anti-slip treatment alter the surface appearance?
Due to the quality of the products we use and the experience of our qualified Grout King team, the treatment is applied safely and effectively ensuring there is no obvious noticeable difference to the appearance of the surface. We conduct a test spot on the surface to guarantee that our clients are happy with the process and result before we complete the application.
Is there any ongoing maintenance involved?
There is no special ongoing upkeep or maintenance on your surfaces once it is has treated with the anti-slip product. General upkeep and cleaning will be the best way to protect your newly treated surface.
Does the anti-slip treatment meet OSH standards for commercial areas?
We understand that some industrial and commercial clients are legally required to protect staff and visitors with anti-slip treatment on flooring surfaces. Grout King has experienced and qualified specialists who will provide test spots and test surfaces with an electronic slip test meter. As part of the service a fully comprehensive report is supplied to the client upon completion and can arrange certification in accordance with Australia standards.
Tile & Grout Cleaning
How do you clean the tiles? With equipment or by hand?
Each situation, surface and location is different so we tailor our techniques according to circumstance. A majority of our tile and grout cleaning jobs are completed with our products and specialized equipment, however in some instances scrubbing by hand is the more effective solution.
Why is it better to pay a professional to clean my tiles and grout?

Are you able to return black grout back to white?
Part of our service includes a free no-obligation quote so we can have a look at the area and asses the severity of the grout stain. In most instances we can completely restore the grout back to its original state. If this is not possible we are able to offer several solutions to fix the issue, such as colourseal.
Is it possible to keep the tile and grout clean after having it professionally cleaned?
We can advise on tips on how to keep your surface area looking as good as new once we have professionally cleaned the area. Tile Re-Grouting
Is it possible to grout over my existing grout?
Old and damaged grout must be removed prior to re-grouting in order to bond the new grout effectively and to prevent the new grout from flaking due to it not being able to seal correctly.
How long do I have to wait to use the shower if it’s been re-grouted?
We advise to allow 48 hours after the re-grouting is completed before a shower is used to ensure the new grout has had sufficient time to seal and dry properly.
How long will the new grout last?
Due to the quality of the products and experienced application, we estimate that any re-grouting completed by Grout King will last at least 15 – 20 years if PH neutral cleaner is used.
Glass Restoration
What causes the stains on shower glass?
The water spots and stains that appear on the glass are caused by the mineral deposits in the water and can actually permanently damage the glass surface if it is not cleaned and left too long.
Whats the process involve for glass restoration?
To restore glass surfaces involves a two step process using Grout King’s branded products. The first step is applying our non abrasive restoring product which removes the mineral and dirt deposits our of the pores of the glass. The second step is applying our glass protector which seals the surface to repel further dirt and water damage.
How long does the protective coating last on the glass?
Our glass restoration products are all eco-friendly and thus not permanent coating. The glass protection products we use will last under normal shower use, between 3-6 months per application. To ensure your can keep protecting your glass, we can supply our Grout King glass protector product to enable you to keep up the required ongoing maintenance required. Otherwise, simply speak to our staff and we can arrange a re-application.
How long does the process take and how much does it cost?
The clean and product use can range from 1-2 hour job costing approximately $100 for a small shower through to $250 for large shower badly stained shower. However, as part of our service we do provide clients with a free no-obligation quote to give you a more accurate cost.
How often should I clean my shower once it has been restored?
Ultimately you should give your shower a wipe down with a micro-fibre cloth after the last shower of the day, every day. This assists in preventing the water staining and a way to avoid using the harsh acid based cleaners.
